The new DD506 now includes rim shots on the snare head, bow or edge shots on the cymbal pads plus "choking" facility. So if you are looking for quiet practice, want to play along with your favourite sounds or have little space for a full acoustic kit then this great value set is for you.
The pads themselves have realistic feel/bounce and you can select your favourite drum sounds for each pad and save them as "your kit" sound ( as well as the preconfigured outfits provided). There is an auxilliary input so you can punch in a cd player or source of your choice( lead not supplied) and then play along with it using either headphones or a separate amplifier ( headphones, lead, amplifier can be purchased separately).
The kit also comes with a bass drum pedal with a good action and feel.
Rim shot- when playing the snare, you must strike both the head and rim of the pad.
Cymbal Bow or Edge shots- when playing the cymbal, you must strike both the head and rim of the pad.
Cymbal choke- choking the cymbal's edge with the hand immediately after hitting the cymbal makes sound stop.
